Oh wait with one exception.....We went to watch a Powerlifting Competition that my cousin was coaching. All I can say was it was crowded with stinky STINKY boys all hyped up to lift a bar with giant weights on each end. I love sports so I thought I'd enjoy it, but it was not my cup of tea.
Okay onto the fun part. My Aunt has been telling was about this store for months. So we finally found a weekend when we could all get together. I was in heaven just pulling into the parking lot.
Recycled Memories is located on Hwy 181 outside of Floresville, TX. The owner Dawn, is super nice and has a lot of unique pieces mixed in with antiques and wrought iron...
I'm thinking about that locker unit for a future laundry room I'm planning, or maybe in a garden shed....
She had a barn in the back that was full of furniture. I only got pics of a church pew and a cool apothocary cabinet...So you know I didn't come away from this place empty handed. I scored a small wrought iron bird bath and this neat piece. Its three shutters that are framed together and has a great patina. Here starts my Met Monday post. Sorry it took so long to get there. I've had this fake fireplace for a few years. It covers the return air vent that is annoyingly in the center of my living room wall. So I'm giving it a makeover starting with the shutters. So should I continue and paint the fireplace? Any color suggestions???
And to top off my day I got to visit with my bestest friend and her family who where staying in Castroville for the weekend. It's really fun to give another person's kids lots of sugar on Valentines at 7:30 at night. The sugar rush was good for many many laughs...

What a great place just full of treasures. I can imagine you could stay in there for days and not see it all. The shutters are just gorgeous. What a terrific find. I have no suggestions on paint, but I can't wait to see the finished project. Hugs, Marty
Incredible place... I would love to poke around in there and not feel rushed! The shutters are pretty... Can't wait to see what you do with them.

Hi, Steph, thanks for stopping by. This looks like my kind of place!
I love those shutters, sure wish I could visit that shop too! I think they look great that color, but maybe also in a "weathered white", if that would coordinate with the rest of your decor.
Steph, this was fun...we got a shopping trip and a Met Monday post together! I love your shutters! I saw lots of interesting things...love the door with the arched windows. Neat place! Something tells me you'll be going back. :-) Susan
you can only imagine the treasures in there, nice shutters, what a great find

You need that chandelier...to paint and hang!
Don't paint the fireplace...it is really nice as is.
I used to live in San Antonio. I worked at a clinic in Carrizo Springs. I would love to go to that store.
What a great place; wish I could visit! The shutters were a good find. I think I'd be tempted to paint that fireplace, to better tie it in to the shutters.
Let us know what you decide!

I'm in heaven just looking at the pictures! I want to go there with a bushel basket full of money.
And..... there's an award for you over at my blog!
What a fun day--minus the stinky boys! You Texas folks make me jealous with all of your shops and cool junk around every corner. Someday I am heading there for a visit!
